track/kick ring gear on sammy arb diff
this is some thing that ive recently thought about....
will i run into the same issues of the track/kick ring gear on the arb carrier for the sammy as the stock carrier..... or does the arb diff have more side adjustment {to compensate for the thinner ring gear} and what about retaing the cross pins for the spiders........ anyone got any info on this

I have run both 4.62 and 5.12 gears with a sammy ARB carrier. The 4.62 gears have barely enough adjustment on their own, but I found the 5.12 gears really needed the offset kit. Better to use it and feel better about the adjustment than to tighten down the lock ring too much and screw up the threads. Cheap insurance compared to replacing screwed up parts.

rocky road emailed me back
and i guess it is a 5 buck item to take care of the problem.....
glenn is a super nice guy i told him that i had a side kick rear diff and said that he would trade the sammy arb for a kick arb just for the shipping charge so ill be mailing him a money order int he morning for shipping the arb and the what ever part it is too make the s/k ring gear locate correctly on the carrier....... now the next q? is do i go with the 5.12 or the 4.62 i have both and im runing the 4.62 gears righy now but they are hard too find the 5.12,s on the other hand are easy to find .....if i go 5.12 i lose some hiway driveability......will the 5.12,s cause more torque related breakage or with they reduce it.....i cant get a straight answer from anyone around here........

Just My 02 but i would go with the 5:12, I didnt recall weather or not you ran t-case gears, but when I ran the 4:16 and 4:57 R/P I was not happy with the street use and wish I had gone 5:38 at the time, This is all based on if you are still running 33's

yup gonna run 33,s for a while
im stuck with em for a while at least i bought 5 new 1,s and blew the tire budget for a couple years at least......these tyres are about 32.25 in dia and thae might be just a tad large for the front axels once i get the arb in the front.......
i would like too run a true 31 inch tyre.....but if i go 5.12 i can forget hiway speeds.....ill just have too wait and see what happens.........................
