I need a pic of a stock rear shaft...

Well, I ordered a 1" extended slip yoke for the rear driveshaft of my Samurai, but when I got it, it was not even close to long enough. The one I had on it was at least an inch longer than the new one. The problem is I don't know what kind of rear shaft it has on it now. It has (2) u-joints on the transfer case side, and then a slip yoke in the middle, and one u-joint on the third member side. Anybody know if this is still a stock style d/s? Anybody have a picture of a stock d/s handy? Thanks for all the help, I'm pretty discouraged right about now (due to this and a few other things with the Sammy today). ~Steve

PS--- Just to clarify, it was on the Sammy when I bought it (with a SPOA), so no, I just didn't forget what I put on.

Sammys never came with a CV joint. I couldn't even speculate what kind of shaft is in there without more info. How big are the joints?

Okay, I figured it out. It has a double cardan CV joint. That's what threw me off. Thanks for the help, Rockrat. ~Steve

It could possibly be a modified Toyota driveshaft. See if Jeff (zuk88 on the board) can get you some pictures of his rear driveshaft. He's running a Toyota CV shaft on his.

I'm running a '90 Toyota CV with adaptors. It was a common shaft to use about 4-5 years ago, before the aftermarket caught up.

I don't know if this link will work

Here is the URL for an article I did awhile back that shows a double cardon rear shaft next to a stock sami rear shaft. The fisrt photo shows the two. In the photo I have the stock shaft sitting on a 1" spacer, so don't let it fool you.
