leaf spring angle??
to get the right camber angle, does the leaf spring have to be level with the ground, or does it have to be on some sort of an angle?
does this make sence? im puting rear sammy springs up front of my sas kick, i have made and welded the rear hangers already, and im wondering how far down i need to make the front one to mount my shackle... on that note, the best angle for the shackle is a 90 degree with the leaf spring? i think i read that somewhere.....

I cheat, and take measurements off a vehicle I know is good. Then duplicate those spring mounts locations to my vehicle.
So in your case, duplicate the Samurai front when used with a M/L and rear spring. Just ignore the M/L and treat the bend in the link as the shackle mount. Yes, 90 degrees to the frame is considered ideal for on road manners. I usually add a little more angle away from the axle so I get a bit more down travel. But do not over do it! It can be tough to figure this one out as the shackle angle is not loaded while building. -Wayne |
