with a 1.3L and some 36's I think @150:1 range works for me.

Minimum of 120:1 with 33. Bigger than 33s, I agree with fatboy.

If you are doing some serious rock you'll need a tire that's 35" or bigger. And with that size of tire you'll need atleat 100:1. Alot of yotas are getting away with a dual cases and 5.29 r&p which is only about 100:1 with a 37" tire but there motors are a little more torquey. I run 36" with 125:1 and find I could still use a little lower gear in some places, but for the most part it's pretty damn good.

My crawl is 223:1, but it too slow for alot of things, I typically use 2nd and 3rd when Im in low low. Or for most things I don't really need low low, low high works wich is about 108:1.

I will be running the 1.3 motor stock with 4.1 in the T case and 5.89 in the R&P's and I'm hoping to have the right gearing for a 35" tire. What do you guys think? not low enough? Thanks
Brad

You'll be fine most of the time. You might find if you get into some technical areas it may require some clutch slippage.

On my Sidekick, I do pretty well with 31's and only about 38:1 (stock drivetrain, except for 5.83:1 R&P's). I power out occasionally, but do OK for the most part.

Once I change my Xfer case gearing to over 4:1 (1.8:1 is stock), I'll be at about 93:1. That should be plenty for most anything I'm interested in at Moab, and around Colorado.

That should be fine. It is around 90:1 (if I did the quick math in my head right ) I am 125:1 and have no troubles. When I was at 90:1 with 33's, I rarely had troubles either. Sami's are so light and the carbed motors lug down and stay strong, which helps a lot.

You may be hurting on the street a little though as far as top speed goes. Top speed should be around 60 mph if that 1.3 will get you there. My 8-valve 1.6 had trouble climbing hills at 60 mph (also my top speed) because of a lousy carb. Adding the EFI solved that though.
