NW wheeling pics

Finally got most the bugs worked out on my sammy and took it out saturday. Was rainy and muddy, but still had some fun. Only got a couple pics though. Not as cool or gnarly looking as the pics Islandzuki and Azrockrawler post, but thought you might like 'em anyway.

the rock crawls were pretty nasty with all the rain, so we mostly ran trails.

These were all taken at Tillamook State Forest. The first one was on little crusher, the other two are at the waterfall on Archers trail.

In comparison, here's a pic from a couple weeks ago when it was dry out. This is little rubicon trail, TSF.

back to the mud This is Rodney coming up the waterfall on Archers. Flexmonger (on this board) was there and did some cool wheel stands trying to get up the ledge, but ended up breaking a birf. Sorry, no pics. I think his buddy took some, so hopefully he'll post them on this thread.

Yep, it sucks. I threw the bearing in front of the case below the input shaft. When it went the bottom shaft came through the front of the housing. It wasn't pretty. The gears and synchros all look good. I guess I just need new bearings and thet plate that bolts up behind the throwout bearing.

SH996: Yes it was very very muddy this Memorial day. I was with a group that went to Trask. The other part of TSF. Did anyone make it up the Waterfall? (Straight up part)

Crushers do get slick don't they!

Did you get a chance to run Hogs Back? That is always fun.
We need to hook up and wheel together sometime.

Nope, no one made it up the waterfall, one guy (sam in a nice red jeep) made it up the far left side, I tried but couldn't quite make it.

We did run Little Crusher backwards, wasn't too bad.

I might be going out again this coming saturday for a short trip, wanna go? We didn't make it to Hogs back because of Flexmongers broken front axle.

SH996 , I would have gave hogs back a try in 3 wheel drive, hell I was doing the 4x4 trails all the way back in 3wd when the rest of the group got soft and took the dirt roads. By the way hogs back is nothing compared to Bates road, which you will find out about this weekend.
By the way pulling wheelies 4 feet up the air and landing hard really does not help a birf ring on a zuk. Unbeleivably my inner shaft did not break, nor the birf ring. But everything else did. Ha, I wont got to bigger axles till I break all my spares. Which at the rate of one every 2 weeks its gonna be soon.
SH996 can you crank out my rig on toy axles in less than a week?

Yeah, I have some 33" boggers I used to run and they did work better in this stuff, and were a little more sticky than the claws, but they slid sideways too much (I never grooved them). Maybe I'll go back to them after the claws wear out (35's of course!).
