A couple seconds of fun, and a bunch of work later.

Only way to stop an axle from bending is to have a soft suspension and a lot of trussing.

What'd you bend/break? Looks fine to me

Nice looking buggy, but toss out the Toys and put Rockwells under it, then you wont bend anymore when you jump....

Of course you cant bend them jumping if you cant get airborn

That's a common problem. They always bend right at the knuckle.

You can strengthen the ends, but I don't know if it is enough without going to a super soft suspension. YJ4rox was telling me saw how he planned to do is last weekend using a piece of 1/4" plate. I'll PM and get him to chime in.

Well.. You will have to do what azrockcrawler did. Check his web site.. That will get you started. You you better get to work on the suspension.

I'm actually going to suggest a stiffer suspension though. Chances are the damage was done when you ran out of suspension and drove into your frame, bump stops, or whatever.

This is why pre-runners have so much money tied up in the suspension. Hell, you might as well put the rig on a diet, then install the IFS long travel arms, etc...

Happy to see your on Pirate! When do we go trailing.... I went to a competition last weekend and I won second place in the show and shine just behind the blue and yellow S-10 on 44's (real show truck)that was in Essex and the top truck challenge Unimog arrived third... I also won firt place of Challenge 4x4 and the Unimog was second . I never tought a little 4 baggner could beat big V8 in a timed course. We had to go over 4 cars, 10 big lugs and a 150 foot mud hole. I have the video but too large to post...

I cant wait to see the suspension damage when this guy trys to jump with thousand pound rockwell axles. I say stay light, truss like hell, and do a ton of fox shox investing if your building a jumping truck. If not enjoy it they make more.

Don't spend any more $$ on suspension...it just breaks when you jump. Weld your axles to your frame with a ton of trussing and weld boogers and then you can absorb the impact with your vertebrae. That's cheaper than buying new parts all the time
