My speedometer cable has rust/coroded itself into the transferecase. I've been through chiltons and the FSM and can't figiure out how to get the dang thing out? I ended up cutting the cable

just to get it onto the floor so I could work on it.
I pulled the set screw too

Without spliting the case and beating it from the inside out, how do get the dang thing loose?

Alternate use of heat and penetrating oil worked for me.Grab it with some vise grips
and twist and pull after heating the case around it.

Use above method, it works. Just don't try and spilt the case without removing bullet first. You'll crack a case.

You can crack the case, yup, but I have split the case apart without pulling the cable. Now pulling the output shaft wont happen without pulling the speedo housing/drive, and if you try you will bust the case.

OH, I talked to Jimmy today, he got it out, without too much damage by the sounds of it.

well I got it apart, after about 3 hours of trying everything I could think of.

I ended up drilling it out.

kinda looked like a revolver only with about 10 shots. then the whole "bullet" came out with it. Then I removed the gear and pounded the cable end out on the bench. Just gotta love michigan salt

i used a chisel and a hammer and tried to rotate it. in combination with oil it worked perfectly.

If the case is of rig you can use a dent pull to get them out ,or the tool that you use to pull hyd lifters
