16v trouble
The prolblem is when I'm on the gas,and let of quickly, the motor idles down so low it almost dies, then slowly comes back up to normal idle.Anyone have the same trouble? The only wires I have hooked up are the mandatory wires for the motor to run.

Look like your ISC is having a bad feedback temparature from the coolant. Did you bleed the coolant system properly before hitting the trails?

the ISC is the idle speed control. It's a small solenoid valve controled by the ECU that keep your engine from stalling when your alternator is charging. On the 1.6/16v the ISC is located next to the t/b, screwed on the plenum. it look just like this:
It's usuallt fairly easy on a stock motor to get rid of air bubbles that may be stuck in the system. Most of the time it only require to let the engine to warm-up properly with the radiator cap off. Just wait untill the thermostat is fully open and let the water pump chase any air pocket away. If it doesn't work, you may have to disconnect one of the coolant lines that goes to the ISC=CIV and let a bit of coolant to spill out. It may also be a badly tuned motor or defective ISC.
