Aftermarket fuel sending unit

Just wondering, does anybody make an upgraded fuel sender for the Samurai? Mine wasn't working, I opened it up and adjusted the tension on the sender, it is now working, but this has to be one of the cheesiest set ups I have ever seen. I don't know if I should be trusting this thing to work for very long. Have any of you looked at this thing and thought it seriously needs an upgrade or have any of you actually found an upgrade with the correct resistance to work correctly?

They're only like 40 bucks at Suzuki and they last years and years. That's what I did after I got tired of running out of gas all over the place. jd
