Hackin the back. Questions????
I am about to cut the back off my samurai right at the targa so I can keep it to run a top and doors if it rains or something.
Question: What is every one doing to the body once they cut the back off. Do you close it up or seal up the rocker panels or what? I am going to cut out the rockers and boat side them, but what about just making up some plywood thing to seal the back up because there is alot of water and mud in Missouri. Just after some ideas. Thanks

I've seen everything from welding a rear door off a tin top in to make a full cab, welding a tailgate in, just using sheet metal, to leaving it open.
Wonderful thing about a project like this..it's yours so do it how ever you want to...lol

Like the other guys said...
I used a rear door of a tin top and welded to the rear of the sams. Looked sick...Except I did'nt cut the truck apart I kept it and made it look like a pick up. Worked great though. T. |

I cut mine just like youre saying and used my tail gate to fill in. A buddy of mine used lexan and ive also seen 1/8" plate welded to the floor and to a harness bar behind the seats. I think your options are pretty much wide open on this one.

Be as creative as you want just leave the plywood out of it. That would not be good.
