Smile One more question

I need advise on a new project
I am planning on starting with a 1994 samurai with a fuel injected motor, 5 speed trans, GSR-2 transfer case, stock width curry 9" front and rear axles with detroits and 5.13 gears.
I want to hack most of the body, leave the dash and front half of the frame to support the motor and go tube chassis and put 1/4 eliptic in the rear. I have a set of 35" boggers for it with 10" beadlocks with a 2" back space.
The problems I see are crawl ratio and no power steering. I can install a Toyota IFS power steering box in it but what to do with the crawl ratio. If I had to pick, I would want at least 150:1 crawl ratio. but then again sammy's are pretty light compared to Toyotas. Im at 91:1 right now and it is not low enough.
Should I:
1. find some centered input output divorced transfer case and put it in front of the GRS-2.
2. Get an adaptor to a Toyota transmission and run Toyota trans and dual transfer cases ($425 adaptor to transmission, $400 dual case adaptor. Total $825 adaptors plus probably $300 for trans and I have 2 t-cases. That is $1125 for 104:1 crawl ratio. Put a set of 4.0 gears in one case for $600 that would be $1725 for 183:1.
3. Get a divorced Toyota transfer case adaptor $325 and fabricate a mount $50 and dual case adaptor $400 and 4.0 gears $600.
That would be $1400 for 170:1.
I could sell the GRS-2 case to offset some of the cost for ??
Any suggestions???

Desertoy,
A cheap but rare solution is to find a LJ80 t-case to put in front of your stock t-case. They are hard to find but would give you what you want (150:1 and centered). Either that or just swap the whole kit and kaboodle for a toy set up.

poppyseed,
There is a reason that the ATLAS generation of t-cases were built off the d-300 platform. I hope it's as strong!
