Question Longer shocks up front ?

I have an 86 hard top with rear springs up front and missing links.
I want to put longer shocks up front but what a bitch getting the original towers off.
Any ideas what to replacethem with?

Replace them with ford shock towers, you can probable get the ford part number from the Roadlessgear.com FARC just use "ford shock tower" as the keyword they are like 12.50 each and they will go up to the top of your fenderwell. You might have to trim them if you dont have a bodylift <IMG SRC="smilies/bounce.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/bounce2.gif" border="0"> I cut mine offwith 4" angle grinder with a cutting wheel

just go to the ford dealership and ask for front shock towers for a 97 f-350 4x4. they used this style for a number of years but i have a 97 f-350 so i can say for sure they are on that ride. these towers are tall and cheap. as stated they only run like $10-$12 a piece. i have a couple of buddys who have them on thier sami's and they work good.

I got the Ford shock towers. Part #E5TZ 18183A. These are just what I was looking for. They are going to work great with the Rancho RS9012 shocks!
I cut the old towers off with a torch on the drivers side but the passenger side required grinding only because "Those are gas lines on the other side of the frame"!

I went to a local ford dealership yesterday and they quoted me $38.00 each. WTF??

Any other place to get these?
