I was reading around on extreme4x4.com about the arachnid (new Spidertrax rig) and they said the following: "Up front, there are 12" static 3.5" OD 150-pound coils and a 4-link suspension with Panhard bar. The front suspension is soon to be available over-the-counter as a Spidertrax kit." Here's a link to the page I pulled the quote from. Sometimes the page comes up as a broken link. Hitting the refresh button solves the problem. And here's a pic of the front suspension (caption below): The lower front control arms of the three-link/coil front setup are long and strong. They're also almost level at static height. The entire undercarriage is powdercoated. [ 09-18-2001: Message edited by: MasterYota ]

Why run a copy? After all the Shaffer's Offroad kit was out 2 years before theirs.......And front and rear is only 1500......and you get the same kit I run in ARCA.......

You can go and buy a frint and rear kit through rocky road outfitters for $1250.00. I haven't really talk to many people on how well this suspension kit holds up though. I looks like it works killer though.

I haven't seen any Johny Joints on any of these set ups, wounder why? I've heard there the only way to go, not to mention you can rebuild them for cheap. I thought Spidertrax would have used something like it if not the real thing. Does Shaffer use them?

There was a couple of Shafer equipped rigs at SOR, including Samit, and the set up was sweet, simple and tidy. If you want to see it there are a few pics on Glenns site. Like I said before, I really liked that it used cheap and easy to change coils so its no big deal to change spring rates or ride height.
I don't know exactly how well Mike S has done, other than seeing he had several top ten and top five finishes, which is pretty damn good.

I think if your in the top 20 your kicking a$$, Just woundering I went and saw the ARCA course at the Hammers and it's nothing I even seen before. Not to mention the level of compitition that some of the ARCA rigs and drivers have reached.
