Post Surface rust on chrome wheels...

What's the best way to remove surface rust on my American Racing chrome wheels?? There is not a lot of it... and it's strictly surface... However, I don't want any!!

This is definitely an un-bright question.. duh.. but is kerosene that stuff you buy at the gas station from the pump labled "Diesel Fuel"??? I've also heard of Diesel Fuel #1 and Diesel Fuel #2... Which one (if either) is condidered "Kerosene"???

Please pardon my dim-witted questions, but I don't ever buy kerosene...
Thanx

Hi Caltow;

As hard as it is to believe, I'm in the process of restoring this particular Sammi to as near original condition as possible (without spending a fortune)... When I am finished, I want it to be somewhat of a "Show Truck" which is still highly serviceable... I don't mind having people stop me to say "Wow!.. Really nice-looking Zuk!! Who's restoring it??" and then explaining to them that I'm doing the work myself!!

If I simply wanted to "sandblast and powder-coat the chrome wheels...." as you suggested, I would have done that. As you mentioned, "chrome is for show-trucks!"... and I agree. Even though it's not what I'm looking for,I respect your opinions on this... Next time, I would hope that you would respect my questions since I'm asking them for a particular reason...

SOS pad, a bucket of warm water with dish soap in it, it works every time and will not scratch or damage your wheels

I DID respect your question...and I gave you an answer... next time I would hope that you would respect my answer since I'm giving it for the particular question... nowhere in your question does it say that it's going to be a show truck so chill out....
