Zm 06

I missed the melt last year. Just wondering how the family campground is. Any space to work on your rig. I read that you have to leave your trailor in the parking lot. What if you get an RV site, then can you keep the trailor attached to the truck? Does anybody go down to wiskey corners anymore?
any tips would be great,
thanks

Family campground is nice. Not much shade, so it's a little warm during the day, but that's why they call it the melt right! Plus the fact that you don't have to load/unload your rig (if you have to) every time you wanna go wheel cuz it's right there. Also makes it nice if you happen to break something on the trail.

Last year they let you park your trailers and stuff on your camp site. I think thats more for rig's with those trailers that can haul 3 or more rigs that we all drool over.

Lots of good info on the IZook site.

Attica Family Campground is again the HQ, but I image there will be folks staying at the others in the area too. Campground info (addresses, numbers, overhead views) can be found at: http://www.izook.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1175

I'll be staying at Summers Carol campground a few miles away. Must have evening beer and the "family" campground is a dry campground. If you stay at Summers Carol stop off at the big Kubota Orange Samurai and have a brew. I will be leaving work Thursday the 6th at 4:30pm and heading straight to the campground. I will be there around 6:30pm.

doesn't stop people from drinking though....

last time out to the badlands we stayed in at the attica campground.. lots of trailers all over the place from guys and their quads and bikes... I don't see why they'd complain about a zuk on a trailer... some guy also pulled in with a sweet enclosed trailer being pulled by an IH hauler...... thing took up 2 RV sites.

Im not taking that chance. I have had my beer confiscated at the camp ground once and I wasn't even drinking it. Give up my case of beer or get out. "Surprise" cooler check. Fuck that. Summers Carol is nicer anyway. Clean bathrooms, firewood for sale on site, shade trees, swimming pool, etc. Gives me an excuse to stop at McDonalds for breakfast on my way in too.

we rolled into camp about 3am and everyone waiting for us was prety well lit Not a big drinker myself, so it doesn't really bother me that it's dry.

I do like sommers carol better though, it's a nicer site, much better for big groups.

I just made my reservation at Summers Carol. I asked if they were getting booked up for primitive and they said they weren't. Last time it was packed when I got there so I wanted to make sure to reserve a spot. Hopefully I can get my favorite spot. Usually the first to go unfortunately.

EDIT: Prices for primitive are $8 a night and firewood is $4 a milk crate stacked as high as you can carry.

We thought so too, until the ZM grew too large for them. They weren't very happy with us the last year we were there so we had to find a bigger area. We won't hold it against anyone that stays there (it IS a nice place, just be on your best behavior and get in the gates before they lock down) as a matter of fact, we have info on all 3 of the local campgrounds for folks to choose from. (see above)

I just reserved a RV site at badlands. And as far as shade, I scored a 50x75 foot canvas tarp, so I will have my trailor covered and will have a small garage for my zook and my buddies.

Now all I got to do is finish the lift, put in the 1.6, new tires for the trailor, new decking, trailor lights and brakes, and get the cap for my truck. Not TOO bad, see you all there.
