spring perches and gearing advice??
I want to do a spoa keeping almost all my stock parts and it seems the only things i will have to buy will be the spring perches. I need some advice on which to get. I liked Rocky Roads because of the design and how easy they are to install. I hear they really suck though?? I want to stay away from welding on the axle. After that (correct me if I'm wrong) all I should have to do is make the steering arm longer. Does anyone have any spring perches they want to sell?? My next thing is gearing. I went to ZM06 and met some people and rode in there rigs and after seeing what some lower gears can do I want to look into getting some but I'm not sure what I want. I'm no an extreme rock crawling person but I want the ability to get over them if I need to. I really don't want to blow a ton of cash either, I just want somthing that will be good and affordable. I also am looking at getting some new tires...30inchers and was wondering what I would have to do so I didn't burn my clutch up as far as gearing goes?? thx

i would suggest the 5.13:1 tcase gears from calmini, especially if you are thinking of ever running anything bigger than a 30 inch tire. a couple of my friends have 4:1's and they were amazed at the difference. also they are easy to install, in a couple of hours a buddy and i had the tcase out, gears installed, tcase back in and was riding!!! and not too much more $$$ than the 4:1's

Trying to find a used 4 to 1 t-case for a good price is going to be the cheapest option for you I think. A 4 to 1 should do good with 30s for someone who is "no extreme rock crawling person."
We'll see how long you use that description for yourself after you get the gears and the spring over. It's a snow ball effect and before you know it your looking at trailers and tow rigs. In any case, this site is for extreme rock crawling, not talking about rigs with 30 inch tires driven by people who describe themselves as "no extreme rock crawling person." Your more than welcome to lurk and come back with good questions, but don't bug us with the type of crap that you can research yourself.
