Question Hybrid rear axle (tracker+samuraļ)

I've a spare rear axle from a tracker with LSD, and i want it on my zuk.

How can i do to keep my samy axle shaft (and to keep the good ofset of the third member) ?

- can i found a bearing that allow me to put the axle shaft in the tracker's reaming, and i will only have to lengthen/shorten each the side of the axle

or
- i need to weld each side of the zuk axle to the cebter section of the tracker axle.

and

-how i do about spider gears?

thx

A couple of vendors sell a hybrid rear housing to do what you've described. It's basically a sidekick center section with the axle tubes cut off and samurai tubes welded on. It uses all the zuk parts from the axle shafts out. You can make your own.

Here's a quote from www.petroworks.com: on the hybrid rear axle:

Our Hybrid Housing utilizes the Stock Suzuki Sidekick rear axle housing and the Suzuki Samurai rear axle housing, then merges the two to make a stronger more beefier housing for your Samurai. There are many advantages to using a Hybrid Housing in your Samurai. The Hybrid Housing allows you to use the larger rear third member from the Sidekick with all of the same options for traction adding devices that the standard Samurai Axle has.

PWP9990 $175.00 + CORE (core consists of a stock Samurai $35.00 unbent rear axle housing and a stock Sidekick rear axle housing $35.00)

Hybrid

You can get a Sky-Manufacturing Hybrid Housing for $225 (NO CORE CHARGE) Sky's uses 3/16ths DOM tube, not factory 11 gauge stamped tubes like others use. Housing use's Sidekick center section, offset for the Samurai T case. They use new ends not the old samurai ones.

I'm sure the Sky kit is better. But since he's in France I doubt he'll be ordering anything from the vendors here in the states, but who knows. Based on what he wrote it sounded like he wanted to make the parts himself. So I was trying to show him an example of what can be done with the parts he has.
