diesel engine swap
Anyone swaped a diesel engine into a Suzuki? Please give your observations. Is it really slow, too heavy, worth it, not worth it? I was planning on the
jetta 1.9 engine.

It's a very common swap. You will probably get flamed from others for posting this up and not searching first, but try the links in post #20 on this thread as a starting point http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...highlight=axis
You may also want to check the Yahoo user groups, they have a section dedicated to diesel swaps in Samurais. Happy hunting. Last edited by TruckTrader; 01-04-2007 at 01:15 PM. |

Diesel conversion
Go to Zuwharrie.com they have a whole area for the conversion. Lots of info and all the guys are glad to help with questions. IMHO (from all the advice I have seen) ACME adapter kit is the way to go.

Stop over and visit on Zuwharrie.....that being said I have an '88.5 Zuk with a 1.6NA, 31s, 4.16 t-case, stock diffs and I LOVE IT ! ! ! The thing is a beast off-road. The power ratings are about the same as the stock 1.3 but the big difference is where you get the power. The 1.3 likes to be screaming where the 1.6 will get it's power down low where you need it for off-roading.
