I'm putting a 1.6 8 valve out of a 91 tracker in my 88 zuk. Was wondering if anyone had any wiring diagrams to show me what I need to take from the tracker and how to wire it up into my zuk..thanks guys

super easy
get the whole tracker wiring harness laying in front of you. take the ecu wires (go one plug {of thre two} at a time) every wire that goes to the ecu is needed and important....if it dosent then fuck it haha (if one wire in the curcuit conects to ecu then its imporant) for example the wire that turns on just the coil in the realy for fuel pump....then you obviously want to keep every other wire that goes to the relays....get it? just post any other questions you got its easy if you take your time and concetrate on one thing at a time |

Welcome Newbie We promote searching before you post. You don't have a red star so you either have to pay $20 to get one and search right on this site or you have to use google to search. You have to add site:www.pirate4x4.com to the end of your google search. Here's a good EFI thread with a lot of good info. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...&highlight=1.6 If you've got specific questions post them up. It seems there's a few guys here who've wired their own now. ![]() Search first, then ask.

I have helped a friend with a engine swap (1.6 8v into a Sammy). The intake manifold of the Vitara engine(Tracker in the US) was identical to the Sammy (1.3i). To keep things simple we used the Sammy wiring + ECU on the Tracker engine and it runs great!!
If you don't want to cut up your wiringharness, you could replace it with a harness from a fuel injected sammy. Fits without modifications on a Tracker EFI engine and in your Sammybody...

I am in the middle of putting a 1.6 8v out of a 90 Tracker into my 87 Sami. I used this link http://www.yankeetoys.org/mini4x/efiswap/efiswap.htm
Basically I used this link to help me find out which wires I could cut, and which I needed. I started with pulling the Tracker harness out, when I did this, before I unplugged anything I labeled where it goes with numbers, then I pulled off all the electrical tape and coverings. Then I looked at those notes on the website, and I went through the wires, and cut out the ones I didn't need, checking twice of course. Then I went and plugged everything where it should be. |
