Few various ?'s
i want to do power steering. i have future plans of D44 axles with the VW 1.6l TD diesel motor.
can i adapt the toyota power steering box to work with D44 axles? how might i go about doing this safely and reliably? i know sky makes D44 steering arms, i am just wandering about the rest of the system. which AC components from the samurai can i keep to use with the VW motor or can i even run AC with the VW diesel motor. also i want to run 33" tires, will 4.16:1 T-case gears coupled to 4.57 r&p gears do the trick? or too much tire for too little gearing? if its to little can i bump up to 5.38 R&P? |

You need the fitting off the Pump and the Fitting off the box and a good Hydrolics place should be able to do it for you. I am getting lines made so I can run a Cherokee Pump, less Res as it will have a remote Res, and connect it to the fitting on the Toy Box. There are a couple people up here running t his set up. The nice part is the pump is strong enough that you can add hydro assist later if you choose to.
