For those of you using a kick pump with a toy box, what did you do to make a hose? Does anyone know a source for those big ol' banjos?

Take both ends to a hydraulic hose shop, if they don't have the ends they should be able to use the ones you have on your hoses to make a new one.

I had to build up some high pressure fuel lines, and basically just supplied the old ends, and drew up a little diagram showing the shop what I needed. After looking around, I was sent to a local repair shop that does a lot of custom work like Hot Rods and motor swaps. So if you don't have a hydrolic shop, you might try a shop that also does custom A/C installs as the tools are all about the same.

I have seen a couple of web sites where the owner is making his own adapter out of a kluge of compression fittings, and I do not recommend that route, unless you have no other choice. That is more of a trail repair..

Nobody in town has the fitting I need. I was hoping to be able to make one out of components and not chop up my buddys loner core since I'm not sure if this setup is going to work in my rig. This is a good last resort however.

Big banjos anyone?

Kestrel-Its a runer these days...its even a driver! I moved last month which has taken a lot of my time but now that I'm settled I have been using my new "country" surroundings for testing. Everything is sorted out except the steering. I dont have enough ps power and my tierod and pitman arm hit at full compression. Got a kick pump and some different knuckles yesterday. I hope to go to the con with Tusker and Bobaki on Fathers day.

As to ORC I sent in the next article months ago, the Suzuki editor is VERY slow to get them posted.

try motorcycle shops. all Japanese bikes that i'm aware of use banjo fittings for the brakes, (and some for hydraulic clutches)

also- hellaciously expensive, but maybe Aircraft supply places, and "Earl's" braided steel hose/products

I called a place that has been helpful in the past, and again they delivered. They had a steel adapter that went from 16mmx1.5 to -6an, for a few dollars. Now I can use rebuildable ps hose components and make my own, and fix it on the trail should it ever fail.

If you ever need ANY type of fitting call Orme Bros. 1.877.676.3277...they are the sheot!

Yep! I will be in Colorado until Friday, but I'm flying into Sacto Friday evening and hitting the road for the Con. I'll be rolling into camp late Friday.

Not sure what your adapting to from many of the pump setup i look at for a swap had various ends even on similer models from year to year....

I just picked up a '90 montero box and pump setup and was happy to see that the pressure line has the 16mm banjo AND dumps to a 14mm flare end.

I had been planning on "needing" to run AN adapters and lines. They look and work awsome but at a price...

Good luck, if this isnt what you need figure out what your going to/from and ask to see the moog catalog at the parts store. In the back thay have diagrams of most hoses/lines used, many are simple pressure lines with ends (with out goofy hard lines pretzled all over)

Thanks Yag- The 6an steel ps fittings I have using arent expensive at all. To build the "gucci" hose was around $35, less than a stock ps hose and less than having my local hydraulic shop do something.
