has anyone done an isuzu axle swap?

i blew my stock rear end on my 86, so im in the process of setting up for a toy axle swap, and i was thinkin, why not do a toy front and a isuzu rear? pros-
4 wheel disc brakes!
corporate 12 bolt rear!
still 3rd member design
cheap cheap cheap, no one wants em (toy axles are popular, thus demand creates price)

but they are 58" wide, 3 inches wider than toy axles, but im tubing the rear on my samurai so i can make it work without makin it look dumb with massive flares

what do you guys think?
and one more question while im on it, do they cut the rear axle to line up with the tcase? how do they do it(just curious, im not doin the work)

Havent done the swap but do own a 91 trooper which has the axle that you are thinking of very good set up and I think you have a good idea with it being so narrow also same 6 lug pattern as toy just dont go for the d44 in the rodeo seen lots of them end up junk with on road use (doesnt say much for them even if they are a disc break rear also)

I'd spent the extra dough for the toy axle. Way better aftermarket support for mods.

more support with toy axles. the isuzu has odd driveshaft flanges that do not go to high angles without a lot of grinding. the 86-95 toy axles are 58" wide, and you can get a v-6/turbo carriers in 86-95 that will hold to a bit more than the 4cylinder diffs. disk brake kits can be had cheap with just a couple brackets, and a run to the junkyard.

you can probably also make your own brakets to toyota if you have a isuzu rear axle setup as a donor. I have been thinking of doing that for my brother's sami.

Isuzu has few gearing options (4.30, 4.55, rare 4.77, aftermarket 5.38) and few locker options (ARB, Lincoln)

The Isuzu brakes make funny noises when you back up..

Should be able to score a Toy rear for the same kind of money, then you will have matching diffs front and rear.

If you use OEM pads, they generally work (and sound) good.

Only if you sacrifice a new born lamb and do the magical dance to please the Isuzu gods. And then they will only groan after 5,000 miles.

Stupid brakes. I ran the OEM pads for a small fortune and they groaned most all of the time I had them. Might as well save yourself $50 and run the aftermarket pads and live with it.
