Hotwiring a kick?

Little help here? I bought a 94 Sidekick from the local wrecker for the 1.6 16v motor. Goin in my Sami. No key, and I'd like to run the engine before we go to the trouble of yanking and transplanting it. Anyone know the wire color codes for starting it? I'm assuming I need to put 12v on one wire for ignition and to another to crank.

Thanx, Bill

why hot wire it? Just unbolt the ignition switch and turn it on.

I'm looking at diagrams to tell him how to do it

supazuk's way is the easy way, pry that bitch out and stick a screwdriver in turn it on and drive it like you stoll it

Well I guess I've led a sheltered life. Didn't know you could do that. One of you said unbolt it, everyone else said pry it loose. I'm guessing you unbolt the steering column cover and then pry the top of the switch off with a small crow bar or something?

if you can't figure out how totake apart a little tiny ignition switch then the 16valve swap may be out of your leage the part you unbolt is the key drum, or pry it out like someone that is trying to steal a car. the switch ataches to the drum.
