What is the stock samurai width of both pre and post 1988.5 samurai's, hub face to hub face?

The later samurai's are wider right?

No, the 413 have narrow axles like 410. The samurai where developed for the american/export market from the 413. It really is just a widened 413 tough

a lot of little differences over the years, but the main are 1000cc 4 speed and different diffs/housing on 410, the early models where more similar to the LJ80.

I could go on all day long about differences and different versions, but I wont :flipoff2:

SJ 413 =track 1210mm ,Diff 3,909,Transfercase: low 2,268 high 1,409,5 speed =first 3,652 second 1,947 third 1,423 fourth 1,000 fith 0,795 reverse 3,466 64PS Carburated Engine

SJ Samurai =track 1300mm,Diff 3,727,Transfercase=same as 413,5 speed =same as 413 Engine=first cabureted from year 1990 fuelinjected

The early german Suzuki Eljot,410 and 413 have a "stock" rear selectabel 100% locker but only for park the car savely (parkingbrake on propellershaft) the German TÜV make this to a law. This "only parkinglocker" can be reinforced to a full offroad locker!

technically the Samurai and Santanaare considered SJ413. The Sierra, Jimny, and Carribean are the same platform but carry the Jimny's JA51 badge. Maruti Gypsy was building the MJ410 and the MJ413 both based on the SJ platforms (410 and 413). The early model 413 had a narow axel among other misc items that were different than the Samurai release. The SJ and JA platform changed over the years to addopt throttle body injection, then MPFI and DOHC 1.3 engines. They also were released in some markets with the coil sprung suspension while other markets retained the leaf sprung suspension...

If you search for the wikipedia article on Suzuki Jimny you'll get the whole conveluted history of the vehicles.
