That's the one. I was hoping someone else had bought that tool that you would likely only use once then lose it in the garage and would let me rent it so I don't have to buy it to use only once and lose in the garage.

How many of these things are you going to build?
If you are only going to do ONE, I think you are better off to just split the nut with a chisel, and be done with it. You will want to buy the improved 5th gear retaining nut kit anyway, especially for a Dodge tranny, so you wouldn't re-use the original. For some reason I've done about 12 of these things, and still don't have that socket. But if I were going to dump money on NV4500 tools, the first thing I would buy is a rear tapered roller bearing puller. I've had a few that were slip fit, but I've had a GM 2WD one that was a tight press fit. That was a nightmare... |
