Ordered my WeldAll256pi Runner Package along with a PowerView Elite helmet using the website yesterday, never got a chance to make a call. Got a call today that the cooler still isn't in stock (or the cart) so I told them to hold onto everything until the cooler comes in and then send it all at once.

Any idea on an arrival date for the cooler setup and cart?

Order is under my name, Kevin Kowal.

BTW March Madness deal is great, got all that for only $1800-ish

Maybe Simon can handle this question. In terms of quality and reliability, igbt technology is the way to go. My question, why do people still sell mosfet plasmas? I am not trying to be a snot...just trying to wrap my brain around it. Is it a cost issue or something simpler.

ordered a force cut 60i a while back and finally used it one time this past week.......the only thing i didnt like about these units is that they do not come with the 50 amp plug on the end which seems to be hard to come by in the male end of it..........and the fact it only uses a breaker box on the back of the unit to turn it on and off..........besides that seems to be a good unit........will be using it more in the next couple weeks.......will post some pics of the cut quality

To answer your questions, yes. Factories all over the wold use MOSFET and IGBT. If a factory produces quality equipment, they tend to use good MOSFET and IGBT chips.

Some of the best welding machines out in the markets use MOSFET technology. However, the question is of quality control and high grade components vs which is better. Hope that helps!

A friend of mine has an LS160P that he got a few years ago that isn't working in AC. Using 6013 or 7024 (what we had around) I can lay great beads in DCEP, but switch to AC and it just won't hold an arc. He had been hoping to do some aluminum TIG with it, but obviously without AC he can't do that - and he was having the same problem (can't hold an arc) when trying AC TIG.

Any suggestions for how to get it to work right? If not, what's the best contact?

Hi Toten,

There are several things you may be happening here. One, your settings, two the frequency gap on the machine may need to be adjusted. However, it seems that if you are able to DC TIG, then you have to fine tune your AC settings.
