Tube Bender Mounting Plate (Infinite 8)

Infinite (8) Tube Bender Mounting Plate

A lot of us fabricators run into a common problem when bending a long piece of tube in a standard size garage, you often run into a fixed object, project vehicle, work bench or walls.

The laser cut 3/8" thick steel Infinite (8) tube bender mounting plate allows you to rotate your bender in 45 degree increments and swing the bender 360 degrees in any direction.

Installation is very easy as you simply weld one of the 3/4" nuts that came with your tube bender to the center hole in the mounting plate then weld the mounting plate to your vertical tube bender stand. You are now able to use one of the 8 holes on the outside of the mounting plate to clock your bender arms and thus rotate your material out of the way of any stationary object in your path.

The Infinite (8) tube bender mounting plate greatly reduces the amount of tubing splices you will have to make due to limited space in your shop/garage.

Works on JD2, JMR, Pro Tools, as well as the new JD-32 tube benders.

When ordering please specify which model of tubing bender you have.

There is video showing how this plate works at http://www.swagoffroad.com/Infinite_...ing_Plate.html

Thanks Troy

How do you affix the center bolt.

Weld the 3/4" nut to the center hole of the mounting plate. Then weld the plate to your bender stand vertical post, with the nut in the middle of the post.

So.......once the mounting plate is welded in place the nut is no longer accessible.

Did you check out the video? YouTube - Infinite 8" Tube Bender Mounting Plate JMR, Pro-Tools, JD2

Picture below is a prototype part but you get the same idea. The center 3/4" bolt goes throught the center hole on the mounting plate, threads into the nut that is welded to the bottom side of the plate, hence you are not able to see the nut when the plate is welded to your vertical post

Thanks for the welcome.

I machined a solid steel 3 in Diameter spud and welded it to the bottom plate that mounts to the bender stand. I cross drilled the spud and tube to accept a 3/4 in pin. I'm using a 3 in Round, 1/4 wall pipe for my stand, ID is 3 inches. The spud fits inside the tube with a close fit. I drilled three cross holes at three different equally spaced degree intervals in the tube so I can rotate mine too, I only drilled one hole in the solid spud.

I just pull the 3/4 in pin I made out of a long bolt. I cut the threads off and rounded the end, the shank goes all the way thru the 3 in pipe. I just pull it and rotate my bender to the next hole. I dont have to unbolt anything. You idea is much simpler to build but mine is easier and quicker to index. Nice job on the invention. Mine requires some drilling/machining/cutting/welding. Yours is just a bit of cutting and welding.

that's a great idea.. but if you're running hydaulic bender why dont you mount your bender to a rolling stand ??

that would be another idea for ya.. market and sell a rolling stand for the bender to bolt to..ours is set up like this at the shop and i cant imagine it any other way

My concrete pad has a 3 degree slope to it, and if my bender was on wheels I would always have to make sure it was facing the same direction every time or from one bend to the next, otherwise there may be up to a 6 degree difference from one bend to the next.

If my floor was flat I would not came up with this unique idea.

Besides, not everyone want or needs to convert to hydro. Its for those of us who are not pussies and are not affraid to bend 2" DOM tube by hand. Sure it take a while longer but it's a good workout. I have 170 feet of 2" DOM in my cage....ALL bent manually.

Does someone have the two hole mounting dimensions for the new JD2 model 32 bender. Rumor has it that they the hole spacing, hence I will need to create a new tube bender mounting plate specific for this bender?

Thanks Troy

Thumbs up

I ordered the infinite 8 tube bender plate from SWAG OFFROAD. I got my order in the mail about 3 days later. You won't find better customer service or faster delivery from anyone else.

Thanks SWAG!

ok I just measured the plate, looks like 2" and I know the model 32 is bigger. It's either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" I will go out and check....any chance I can make an exchange? do you have a laser close by? I know a guy that runs one but the turnaround time is much much faster if I buy it from you!

Matt,

Once you get the measurement for the JD32 it takes a week from dimensions given to a new laser cut part on your door step.

Let me know I will take the std version back and swap you the JD32 bender ring.
