We are starting a new product for our standard size dimple dies. It will be a cutter similar to the punches in the Harbor Freight and Greenlee type Knock Out Punch Kits.

Our cutters will do standard sizes. It will be a 5pc set with sizes 1inch, 1-1/4inch, 1-1/2inch, 1-3/4inch and 2inch. These cutters can also be used in a press with the supplied grade 8 fine thread bolt and friction reduction bearing or with the Harbor Freight hydraulic/Greenlee type unit in order to cut.

All you need to do is drill a 3/4" pilot hole for the alignment to pass through. This makes dimpling with our standard size dimple dies much easier because it gets rid of the chore of using a hole saw.

These cutters will be made out of 4140 heat treated bar stock and then will have an additional heat treating process, bringing it to 42 Rockwell C.

This is a photo of our cutter, it has not been heat treated yet, but we wanted to post up so that you can see what it will look like. Each cutter will have a matching cup.

We are starting this thread in order to gauge interest in this type of product so please, post up and let us know if you have interest in this product and any input or suggestions related to this.

We just tested our prototype cutter. This is before having it heat treated. This was tested on a 1/8" plate and done in a 20 ton press here are pictures of the results:

this will be cool. hopefully the threaded rod on the punch will hold up to 1/8. i have broke 2 rods pulling holes in big switchgear at work with the big greenlee slugbuster

I was more interested in dimple dies that would fit the HF punchouts since its such an inexpensive kit to begin with.

Yes, thanks for bringing up this question. We can make these cutters for any size gauges. We'll be able to set up individual prices if you're not looking for a complete set. If there are others wanting custom sizes, let me know. I appreciate the interest and the ideas.

definitely interested in the cutters to be used in a shop press-- cutting/punching the holes is the worst part of dimpling! Love my 1 3/4" die from you guys though!!

Can you make them in sizes bigger then 2" I hate using hole saws for the 4" and 6" dimple dies I have.
