Thanks for writing back. I will be taking you up on your offer soon enough as I am running low on tungsten and plasma consumables. I have attached some pictures of some aluminum welds and cuts done with my 200PI machine. The machine will really cut some thick aluminum in AC. The 2 pieces of aluminum here are 1/4" and 1/2" plate but if I had anything thicker than that, Im pretty sure it would go through that as well. The weld is pretty and straight, but it was just a practice weld so I left the metal impure with slag and dirt from the cut I did before hand.
The machine is definitely doing its job.








All cuts seen on the aluminum were done with the plasma cutter on the machine in AC mode. The welds like I said are impure but the consistency is there. Ill post this up in your other thread as I seen someone else asking to see some aluminum welds. Thanks Longevity.

The impurities are present but your beads look very good! its obvious that you have been welding for quite some time. The cuts are amazing in AC aren't they! you don't see quality cuts like that on aluminum from a DC plasma cutter, even on thinner material. Hope to see some of your finished projects in the future. What is the advantage of the Pilot Arc. I don't know much about plasma cutters. We have a miller brand at work and I have used it some. I am interested in the 40D. Would it be a good option for a home shop?

High Frequency:
High frequency refers to the type of ignition mechanism for your Longevity Plasma Cutter. For example the Longevity Force Cut LP-70 Plasma Cutter uses a High Frequency starting mechanism to ignite the spark at the torch tip of your plasma arc. This is a quality starting mechanism, however the high frequency emitted by the machine itself may interfere with your electrical and computer equipment in or around the work area. With this machine the plasma arc is ignited by electrical current produced at a high frequency. Also, the torch tip must be in contact with the metal in order to ignite a spark.

Pilot Arc:
The Pilot Arc technology is a manner of ignition that allows a spark from at the torch tip without ever touching the material. With the Longevity Force Cut LP-50D Pilot Arc Plasma Cutter a spark can be ignited at the torch tip several inches away from the cutting surface. The benefits of this cutting edge technology are the ability to cut materials quickly and accurately with out the negative affects of high frequency, but more importantly, the ability to ignite a spark with out the tip touching the material will help protect and prolong the life of your consumables. Pilot Arc technology will not interfere with electrical or computer equipment which makes the machine more compatible for CNC tables or Environments where other electrical equipment is in use.

Wanted to check on the differences...

between the WeldMax LC-416D and the WeldAll LS-160P
WeldAll LS-160P has the pilot arc for the plasma and ability to weld aluminum ?

between the WeldAll LS-160P and WeldAll LS-160PI
40 vs 50amp plasma cutter

PM Sent addressing your concerns. Basically, our AC series will allow you to weld aluminum as well. The PI models feature our IGBT technology and continuous pilot arc on the plasma cutter.
