Not a bad deal at all for what it is. I've definitely used this thing far more than I thought.

Troy-do you have plans to build a DIY sheet brake setup that could handle a 6' wide piece of thin sheet??? I need a brake to handle a full 6' piece of material to make a few clean bends with. Wider would be OK too but it has to handle 6' for sure. It needs to be portable with easy setup for either bolting to a bench top or side of a trailer rail-any flat surface to secure the brake to for use, then un-bolted or clamped and stored vertically in the corner till the next use so it's not taking up space on the bench, trailer, flat surface-where ever it was used at. I have a few ideas in mind to accomplish this but as good as your press brake works, I wouldn't mind buying a DIY kit from you for that either...

Best of Luck,

Mike
Totally agree man... A big DIY portable/store-able brake would be fawesome. I think Mike is on the right track as far as the description and use for most of us in the small shop/garage category. I think 48"-20/18/16gauge (thicker gauge on shorter pieces of tin) would be pretty sufficent for most of us.

Finger brake capable would be even more fawesomer.

fawesomer... I will have to add this to vocabulary as I love great descriptive words.

I'm loving the new product suggestions, every great idea/suggestion gets written down and placed on the to-do list.

X2!

You done yet? I can drive down and pick it up if you like-well, after the weekend of course...

Just remember-needs to be able to handle a 6' wide piece of sheet. Maybe 14 ga or 16 ga perhaps...

I bet once you get the 6' one knocked out for me, you could just make it as simple as a "die swap" of sorts for the guys who don't need that wide. Offer up a 6' version and a slightly smaller 4' version maybe for a little bit of a price break for the guys who won't need QUITE that wide... In sticking with this "portable" thing to bolt on to the side of a trailer or bench top, I'm thinking maybe some removable handles are necessary as well that would slip in either on each end, or linked to the center-depending of course if a guy had the strength to bend something that size on his own. Heck an 20' stick of angle could be broke down to two 7' lengths and one 6' length, assuming some extra on the ends to allow for fitment/hinge/bolt setup-maybe two at 7.5' and one at 5'? After hinge setup/bolt attachment/handles are fit, this SHOULD allow for a full 6'+, on the big one and a solid 4' for the smaller version... Course design could change all that easy enough. Not sure if the frame setup could allow for a "die" change to either a full 6' option or the narrower 4', or if it would require two full separate setups. Course, if they all allowed for a full 6' width, a guy could do anything 6' and narrower on this, then anything under 19" on the press brake I already have. Maybe two sizes isn't even necessary? If they were portable and able to be stored in a corner somewhere, I don't hardly see what 6' tall vs. 4' tall in the corner would amount to and the guys doing the smaller stuff could have the ability to go wider if they need down the road without buying more tools. Can obviously run all the 4' stuff through the 6' anyway so that's covered...

Sorry-just random thoughts for use, stocking inventory, etc.

And-I just want one, could you tell?

Best of Luck,

Mike

Mike and Zach.

You two are keeping me on my toes. I'm looking for a way to get 26 hours out of a 24 hour day, with that being said I currently don't have plans to make a 6' wide 14 gauge brake.

Tomorrow is a new day and I might change my mind at the stoke of midnight tonight.

Thanks again Troy

sorry if it was already answered in previous posts, but do you also offer this fully assembled? ...so basically I take it out of the box, clamp it in place on the press, and I'm off to the races?

I don't offer this kit fully assembled, my assumptions are if you have a need for a press brake then you have a welder. It takes 30-60 minutes weld the kit together and get it all dial it in

Step away from the torch and big ass hammer. Order up our press brake kit and take the hammer marks out of your bent pieces of steel.

Thanks again for the orders.

I got on you these last year on Cyber Monday. I love it and it gets a lot of use. It's one of those things that you wonder why you didn't buy it sooner, it adds a whole new level to what you are building.

I currently have a northern tool press brake and a HF 20 ton press. I'm to the point where I need to bend 48" of at least 16 ga material, To do this I am going to build a 50" bed press, and chance you could make a 48" kit?

Have you thought about making any dies like a goosneck die for us who build our of suspension brackets?

I have toyed around with that, however I'm not sure there is that much demand for that large of a press brake, and if there was I never know what people are going to do with it and how much force they are going to use. I'm afraid of people putting 100 tons to these press brake kits and telling me that the kit we sold them bent.
