Need more AIR

I currently only have a 26gal, 5hp, 5.8CFM@90psi compressor, although it is a quality cast iron compressor, Im afraid it wont be upto the job

since new machines im looking at requires 7-8cfm, @70psi will I be okay for small jobs? It always worked fine for hand torch cutting?

can I just add another air tank to the system?
I realize that I will require a larger compressor eventually, but will this work for now?

do all plasma machines require the same amout of air, 45amp machine vs a 85amp machine?

what if you have an 85amp machine and turn it down, does it still require the same volume of air?

Not much difference for the cfm requirements a PM45 requires 6 cfm where a PM85 requires a 6.7 cfm, you can limp along with the compressor you have but not for long, and you will be getting an error light when the pressure drops on the plasma cutter.

When shopping for a compressor take the required cfm and multiply by 1.5
