We ran into a roadblock and it is back to the drawing board. It is still not a big priority. Getting the machines out is the biggest priority at the moment and in the forseeable future. Sorry! We have lots of other accessories in the works for this little thing and those will most likely take precedence as well.

Bill do you mind sharing what road blocks you ran into? Production or design? I have started working on my table design and if you ran into a design gotcha I want to make sure I am not missing it. It would suck to have my whole table built only to find I missed something. Also could we get a teaser for the accessories you are planning or are you keeping them top secret?

BLKBOB - Building your own table shouldnt be too hard, unless I am missing something, hence the question to Bill above. My table will allow indexing parts up to 4' with a water tray. Overall table length is about 5'. It also has a fold up leaf so I can support up to a 2'x8' sheet. I wont be able to index all 8 feet without moving the sheet but the bigger the sheet you can cut the less waste you will have.

Right now the design has two shelves under the main table, lower one to store 2x4 sheets of material. The upper will be split in three sections. One side to hold the plasma cutter and table electronics, one to hold the tank to drain the water table for aluminum cutting and the pump to refill the table, and one to hold sheet drops that are still big enough to be useful.

The table will be on casters so I can move it around my shop if necessary. It will be a little complicated to build but I feel it will be worth it when it is done.

I don't think it will be difficult as well to build this I was just more concerned about the whole indexing thing. After hearing that Bill and Mike were working on a table that would allow indexing with the pin system I wanted to see the design for the spacing as i do not have my machine yet.

I would also be interested in a sneak peak of the accessorries.

Well maybe once you get your build together maybe post a list of material if this design works???

The problem is that we have been using an old in house press brake. We have had to change a few things in the design in order to accomodate it. Now that we are having to churn these machines out more quickly, there is a machine shop in town that we use pretty exclusively. They have every possible tool at their disposal. They will have requests to make changes in order to continue to allow us to move more quickly through the production process. I would hate to give you a table design with pin locations and dimensions for the table only to have those things change. It will probably be six months to a year before we hit the final design on the table. Nothing about its form or function will change at this point, but some production items may. That is the problem. I would say to wait and build your table after you get your machine. It is the only way to be certain that we have not changed anything.

Disturbed - I wouldn't worry too much at this point. All we have really changed has been the length of the feet by .125" I think and a few other things that don't really affect anyone other than they guys assembling them.

Remember, I let you guys in on this machine before we even went to market with it. For all intents and purposes, we are not even in full production yet. I can't even begin to tell you how many little things change here and there. It is a battle of personalities, machinists, machinery capabilities, vendors, sales people, customers expectations, etc. This is no small undertaking. There is a reason that no one has been able to pull this off before. I could not possibly be any more excited about this product, but WOW! There is a lot to it.

And no, I am not giving any sneak peaks or teasers about what we have in the works.

Bill

Drawing is coming along, but the recent snows, other projects, the fact that I dont have the machine yet, and my 7 month old twins have put this on the back burner. Snow is cleaned up, other project is getting close to being done, and I should be getting my machine fairly soon so I will be getting back to it soon.
