Example of Nesting & what is possible
I saw this sheet being cut yesterday. I snapped a couple of pictures before I left. Then this morning I snapped a few more after they removed the parts from the plate. This is a good example of full nesting that can be accomplished with the Torchmate CAD program.
I hit up my guy running the machine about the settings he used. They are listed below. Realize that this is our top of the line system with the top of the line Thermal Dynamics UltraCut 300 plasma cutter, so don't expect this out of a $3k plasma cutter. The cutter you choose is almost always the limiting factor in these tables.
Next run we will turn up the amperage and the speed. On this particular sheet, my operator started the machine and then went back to his office and had a meeting. He came back and it was done. Nothing like using the machine to make the machines.

It is definitely one of the unique things about our company and products. We actually use them day in and day out. It makes it really easy to figure out what works and what doesn't.
I can't even begin to explain how rewarding the whole experience of this place is. We have so many really cool opportunities right now. Put it this way, I stepped out of my own race car because it is more fun to go to work. Seems just wrong, doesn't it.

flippin sweet, what size table is that? 5x20?
I just had my first job a few weeks ago to cut parts that I was able to nest an entire sheet full of parts and then cut two full sheets of them. |

Those are cool. We have a ways to go to get there. Our second Kuka 6 axis robot will be showing up this week to be put into production. I can't fathom organizing that Lego production. I was putting together a Star Trek Lego ship that my son got the other day. The whole time I was thinking, "who comes up with these things". Now I know. Thanks!
