programming a tool change

i understand how to manually insert a tool change directly in the g-code but i was wondering if there was an easier way.

like applying a tool change by layers in TM Cad that way when i sequence the parts and export. TM3 automatically notices that the layers have changed and apply the correct tool change?

There is a way to do it in the Torchmate CAD Software, if you'd like I can email you the walkthrough guide that explains the process. It's a little more complicated than just exporting a DXF though.

that would be excellent. just so you have all the information that may be needed. i Draw every part in auto cad mechanical and can assign layers to all items pretty easily. i then save as a .dxf and import it into TM Cad (2006) version. i use the cad to sequence and nest the parts then export it to TM3

There are a few changes I would like to make to it before I send it out, so look for it towards the end of today.
