Height Controller Question

This problem just started recently.. Ill start cutting a file and a couple cuts in or as soon as it starts the torch head instead of going down and touching the material it will act like it hits the material and just go up to the pierce height. It seems like it was binding on something. So I lubed the slides and screw and it would solve it for like 5 cuts then start doing it again. So I turned up the resistance to 40 and it still doing the same thing. The screw has a little bit of play before it will make the torch go up or down. Is there a spec on the free play? I'm at a loss right now any help would be appreciated

First off, I wouldn't ever set the touch torque value higher than 20, if you set it to 20 and it still isn't working, there is a physical resistance issue in the travel of the lifter. If you've already oiled it up and that seems to help, but eventually it goes back to not sensing the material, then we need to adjust the guide rods. The guide rods are located by 3 plates, top middle and bottom. Typically what we'd recommend is to first loosen the two allens on the middle plate, and then just snug them up loosely, and do an Auxiliary - Plasma On in order to test the ability to travel down to the material. If it goes down successfully, tighten the screws down a little more and repeat.
