Water table would help, but I sure wouldn't be using a plasma in the basement...

I think I would use a water table and a overhead vent hood.

I have a 4x4 and moving to a 5x10 in my basement with a water table. No problems at all. The water table takes care of everything. My wife is pretty picky about when I work in the basement and when I run the plasma for 2 simple cuts by hand without the table she complains. I can cut all night with the table and not one peep. I wouldn't have a CNC table without a water table. For the record I keep the water up to the top of the slats.
