Whats this Welding truck worth?

Father inlaws retired and he has brought his truck down for me to sell. He custom built this rig and bought it brand new.

-93' F350 4wd Reg cab with long chassis
-Larger brakes installed front and rear with drilled front rotors
-7.3 diesel with 173,000 on the clock, fresh injection pump, and 8 (new) not rebuilt injectors, fires right up and runs like it did new
-Trans is built with under 10k on it with a triple disk converter installed
-Lincoln generator/welder with 1800 hours, perkins 3 cylinder diesel and could run a house
-Utility bed is beyond setup, has a rollout deck that has grinder, drill press, etc.
-Swing out hydraulic powered stand that has vise and anvil
-On board torch tanks with apx 75' of lines and cutting torch
-On board water tank with pump and plumbed to rear of truck
-All regulators are remote mounted in the box and have high pressure line to the tanks
-Exterior stereo with speakers in the enclosed bed
-The truck has the option to use shore power or generator power at the flip of a switch and some lights are 12v battery.
-Alcoas with new high load capacity tires all the way around

The truck was babied and just looking at it in person shows it. The interior looks brand new and he installed eddie bauer seats. The Engine runs perfect, and has been taken care of beyond anything I have seen. Engine, tranny, t-case and axles have no leaks what so ever. Gets about 14-17 depending on freeway or around town. Being the IDI engine, its not a race car but pulls its own weight pretty good and cruised from idaho to my house through the hills very good.

There are a couple little surface rust issues on a couple of the box doors due to moisture getting under the paint. 2 right rear doors are false due to being hit 15 years ago and body was repaired but there is nothing behind the 2 doors.

The truck is ready to go to work and needs zero work. I just dont really know where to start with price and need some knowledgeable opinions for its value.

Get it up to Western North Dakota and sell it for 2x what you'll get in CA.

Hire ol' stjames into driving it up there for you.

That truck is a gold FN mine. Put that on craigs list in

Western Colorado, Wyoming, and North Dakota. They will fly out to your location and buy it.

Shit lease the truck out to somebody for 1000k a month

I like the idea of another state where its worth more, just need a # to start I would love to just keep it but I own a heating and air company and this is overkill for service calls.

So now my minds turnin. What are the welding requirements? I mean do you show up with this truck and a welding cert and work just pours in? Just checkin on the web and holy shit, it seems to be blowing up!
Then finding an operator I could trust is a whole different issue.

that thing? Only about $100 delivered to my house in PA (can't blame me for trying right!)

Seriously that is badass and good luck with the sale. That will really help out someone wanting a turn key work rig.

Yes.
All position, all thickness structural welding or pipe/pressure certs would open a lot of doors. Probably more of the latter.

I would guess that there are opportunities for uncertified welders, but a lot more with the piece of paper, and higher pay.

Yes to this, too.

I'll take a guess at a value, then everyone can tell me its wrong.
My estimate between $9K to $12K total.

The welder is probably $3K, the custom bed $3-4K the truck $3-5K.
This one of those things that is worth it to the right person! Cool rig.

I would say 15,000 or more. built one last year for a guy and had 10 in it before the welder, and the cost of the truck. Nice looking ride!!

The only problem with it is the welder. Very limited on what it will do. IE: wire feed, and not enough watts to run a plasma cutter.

Thanks for all the input, im kinda thinkin between 9k-16k somewhere? Im getting closer on where to start I tried looking at welding trucks and its hard to even compare because all that I have found are newer, but clearly beat to shit and have ton of miles and hours. Its clear that most dont get rid of them until they are all used up. In this case hes really slowed the past 10 years (dont really need the coin) and desided to retire a couple years back. The responses on how nice the truck is will get to him, cause he is very proud of this truck and his biggest concern was if the new person will take care of it

It would a tough sell to a pipeline/oil patch welder. Its not new enough, and its not set up right. This is more of a hotshot/maintenance truck.

Absolutely agree, and I think one could make a living off that truck up there. That being said, the folks who are just showing up, and getting welding jobs are fairly established pipeline folks with lots of experience in the field. I think one could do well with a truck like that doing mobile repair services.
