From this thread: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...=689439&page=4

Came up the other month. Turns out that Daniel is behind it. So probably best not to get your panties in too much of a bunch over it...

you should have linked page 8.. thats where the info is. but this ad doesn't mention Daniels new company at all. possible that there are a few companies involved in building these?

I've got my settings to show 50 posts per page instead of the default 25 - so it is on the fourth page for me. Didn't know that would affect the links.

If you go to his eBay page mentioned in there - 6wheeldrive - you'll find this listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...item46047b1649

Shows the Grand Prairie Ford F554.

So it's just a standard F-550 C&C with some bling-bling wheels and tires on it?

looks to be marmon-harrington style planetary axles as well. if so that's pretty slick. i believe the have a total of 6.75 ish reduction in the axles. i wonder what their plan is to make it steerable though? i know that mrap that used those axle were only capable of actually turning because they had 2 MASSIVE hydrostatic steering units with gear reduction in them. so not sure what the gig is with these. and whats the plan for making them street worthy with that much gearing. My mat-v with a C7 and 6 speed Alison had planetary hubs and deep axle gears and was only able to bust 60 down hill with a 20knot tail wind spinning at 2800rpm. Good concept though. will it ever even dent the unimog market... NO, but i could foresee Oshkosh or another similar company building something like this for a bush fire truck, that would be bad ass.

Assuming the gearing works out for highway speed, it would make a badass platform for an EarthRoamer

I would put the conti's and beadlocks on a regular F550 and save myself 50k to put towards a camper or flat bed and one heck of a trailer.

Then, not only would I save 50k bucks, I would have a vehicle that could be serviced at any dealership with readily available parts, not be stuck in some po-dunk area trying to figure out what seals and bearings I needed to get drop shipped from some single supplier's warehouse.

Besides, if Daniel is behind it, odds are they will be out of business in a couple years anyways, then good luck finding parts on your own

My Name is Dann Munro.

I have been in commercial sales for almost 30 years.

I am the project manager for the F554 project. I work for Grand Prairie Ford.

I would like to handle the Misinformation here.

First "Back to Basics" and "Kill the Bull" are good friends with each other and Former employees of Daniel Little/Liventre, Both are grinding their axe and sharing personal opinion as fact.

Fact#1 GPFord.com owns the F554 project outright, Daniel Little and Liventre no longer are in business nor own any portion of this project. Liventre to the best of my knowledge is out of business.

Fact#2 We do not use military surplus or "rebuilt parts" we only purchase new components made for us. We have our own Ford Dana80 casting, Knuckles and suspension parts. No part of the F554 is used or rebuilt.

Fact#3 The speedometer MPH adjustment and ABS light issues have been fixed now that the truck is here. It has no electronic or mechanical issues at all.

Fact#4 Please contact me directly since this thread is so polluted with misinformation and I will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Dmunro@vtaig.com or 972-859-5425

We are also starting a Facebook page and website to host factual information.

Administrator of the site, can you please PM me?

Been here for 10 years, you can't figure out to contact the administrators, and your first post is pimping your product without a yellow star?

actually he isnt the OP for the product. so he isnt really pimping anything. He is correcting misinformation about his product that someone else decided to post.

Maybe I am old fashioned, but I usually equate "I am in commercial sales", "I managed the project", "I work for the company that sells the product" and "Here is my name, e-mail and phone number, you know, if you have any questions about ordering one" as pimping.

At least somewhere in that real fine line.

And, I am sure he is copying and pasting across multiple boards off google searches to drag this thread up, but most of his "facts" were not even mentioned in this thread.

Looks like "Back to Basics" was also searching for anything on this. He came along two months afterwards and signed up apparently just to post in this thread an another one about USA6x6. No idea who "Kill the Bull" is as he certainly didn't post in this thread.

So "Angie" is probably just following him around...

word for word.

Ford F554, the replacement for the H1 is here. - Page 16 - Expedition Portal

I guess the fine folks at grand prairie ford didn't know the reputation of the guy they went into business with.
