Where can I get some 3 or 4" ratchet straps in Sacto?
Or Folsom area?? I'm gonna chain the rear and put ratchet straps in the front. I have the chain but need some good straps like ASAP...
Any ideas??

i got a 2"( i think) at home depot last week, i don't recall if they had bigger ones. i know NAPA has them, not the hook style though(clip style) they have to get them from the warehouse though( 2 hour wait). marvs trailer on folsom blvd might have them too,try to get him down a few $$$ his mark-up is pretty steep.

Any of the truck stop should sell them, and probably the truck / trailer dealers as well. I think 4" is the standard used on alot of flatbeds. They're not too cheap, though. Some of them have the whiches on the trailer and just sell and strap, but there are actually rachets out there for them. I know, as we had some on the hay truck. About 30# each, but I think they're 10 ton, or something like that. Should be easy to find, though. I'd start out with a trailer dealer. I'm sure there's one in west sac, I just don't know who they are.

Furthermore, I have never seen them at the truckstop either (49er truck stop out on El Camino and I80).

Got mine at Sam's club for like 13.00 apiece. They are the wide heavy duty with the hook. Don't know if I'm too late or not but good place and about 10.00 cheaper than anywhere else I could find for the same ones.

Well I checked Homo Depo and they only had the 2" variety.
Not strong enough... Ended up at Harbor Frt and they only had 2"ers too but they had chain on sale so I picked up some of that and several binders. That seems to work ok. My brake controller came via UPS today too (Prodigy). Got it from Truckexpressions.com for $99. They even sent me a t-shirt. ![]()

Yes, most 4" straps have the whinch on the trailer. But I know you can get them.
Do a google search for 4" strap ratchet Only a few thousand results. Here's one place with prices. Looks like about $65 each, at least for the ones with chain ends. Rated 15k, working load 5400# Good enough?? Now, these may be expensinve, but they're true proffesional grade. -John |

I just saw 2" ratchet straps at Home Depot on Antelope Rd for $12.95 each. 10,000# rating. Hooks on each end. They were hanging on the side of an aisle end cap, right by the tool section.
