Any of the truck stop should sell them, and probably the truck / trailer dealers as well. I think 4" is the standard used on alot of flatbeds. They're not too cheap, though. Some of them have the whiches on the trailer and just sell and strap, but there are actually rachets out there for them. I know, as we had some on the hay truck. About 30# each, but I think they're 10 ton, or something like that. Should be easy to find, though. I'd start out with a trailer dealer. I'm sure there's one in west sac, I just don't know who they are.

We do not sell straps. See link below. Same with Freightliner. Last time I was in there, Port Truck Supply had 4" straps instock, but they were not ratchet straps like what Glenn is looking for.
Furthermore, I have never seen them at the truckstop either (49er truck stop out on El Camino and I80).

The only trailer dealer in West Sac is Freuhauf/Dorsey on West Capitol Blvd. They mostly stock hardparts. I doubt they have ratchet straps, but maybe .

I've never seen a 4" ratchet strap. 2" is the largets I have seen.

those 4" straps use that ratcheting mechanism that is welded tot he trailer, so all you can get is a strap with a hook of one form or another on the end.

Got mine at Sam's club for like 13.00 apiece. They are the wide heavy duty with the hook. Don't know if I'm too late or not but good place and about 10.00 cheaper than anywhere else I could find for the same ones.

Well I checked Homo Depo and they only had the 2" variety. Not strong enough... Ended up at Harbor Frt and they only had 2"ers too but they had chain on sale so I picked up some of that and several binders. That seems to work ok. My brake controller came via UPS today too (Prodigy). Got it from Truckexpressions.com for $99. They even sent me a t-shirt.

Yes, most 4" straps have the whinch on the trailer. But I know you can get them.

Do a google search for 4" strap ratchet Only a few thousand results. Here's one place with prices. Looks like about $65 each, at least for the ones with chain ends. Rated 15k, working load 5400# Good enough?? Now, these may be expensinve, but they're true proffesional grade.

damn, the 2" ones I use from Home Depot have a working load of 3,300lbs. I use 4 of them to tie down the four corners of my rig. (I don't tie down by axle) Haven't had any issues with wear or breaking them.

I can't imagine California is that much different than Michigan. When I ran trucks up there, every trailer dealer sold double-ended, full ratchet 4" straps.

I just saw 2" ratchet straps at Home Depot on Antelope Rd for $12.95 each. 10,000# rating. Hooks on each end. They were hanging on the side of an aisle end cap, right by the tool section.
