ABS light is on? 2000 PSD

Anyone else have ABS problems with their 2000 Fords. This one is a PSD 4x4 dually chassis cab so it has the 80 rearend. Let me know what you/they fixed/replaced.
Every once in a while when you are about stopped you will feel the peddle kick back slightly and it will glide for about 1/2 of a second and then go back to doing what you were doing as far as peddle pressure goes. The light started out off and on for a while but is on all the time now so I need to do something about it and hope it is simple.

Anyone???

more than likely it is the rear wheel abs sensor. it is on top of the diff housing. they are pretty inexpensive. around $20 from ford.

edit,if that doesn't do it let me know and i'll come up with the code scanner...maybe for some hummer re-bar rock rings .

I would suggest that sensor also. That same problem occurs with GM rear ABS systems alot. What works alot of the time is to do a rear diff service. When you have the cover off brake clean the tone ring and sensor. They get crap on them and it throws off the reading to the sensor.

my 99 did that and it was the ABS sensor in the rear end. it was only like $18 for a new one from ford.

happened on my 97, check your fuses, sounds stupid, but for some reason, ford put the abs on the same circuit as the blinkers AND the brake lights!! so when my abs light was blinking, it meant i had no blinkers and brake lights, which i didn't know for like a week of driving!! Pretty scary stuff, i kept putting in new fuses, i finally just took it back to where i bought it from and told um to fix it, or the would pay for a new truck when i got in an accident from the one they sold me with funky abs light in my searching i too found out about the weak rear abs sensor, and the guys at the dealership said they sold a lot of them, so there you go
