Yeah, both are 4x4 and maybe there was a mistake at the dealer.
Not to make any assumptions, but the used car dealer said they were checked out and were fine motor wise. But, you never know these days.

Like everyone else says, the motor is not the thing to worry about. 200k + is not a big deal on a cummins, many of these motors have gone 400k w/o major work. The auto trans is a weak spot if you tow alot. Front ends get real loose as well (track bar). I'm on my second 3500, first was a 97 12 valve, excellent simple truck, easy to get power out of. I have a 24 valve now, love it, modded crap out of it a tow real heavy, but miss the simplicity of the 12v. Your prices seem right. Key is to go over the truck thoroughly. Lots of info if you want to search on turbodieselregister.com.

Thanx alot guys. I'm goin to look at the truck on saturday and i'll fill you in. I'm not plannin on towing alot. Just to the trails and car shows that are anywhere from up to 12-14 hours away. I know i could get a 2500 but i have always loved duallys so im gettin one plus i want the stability on the long highway drives. On the way back from indy, i was behing my friends 03 DD cummins and watched him pull a hard left at about 60 with a show car in tow and was very impressed. So safety first and my likings next. Later and thanx
