Gauges?

I'm new to the Diesel thing. My rig: '98 12v CTD 2500 4x4. I figure the order of operations on the road to safe modification is 1) guages, 2) tranny, 3)motor.

What gauges are "must have" items?
EGT
Tranny Temp.

What gauges are "should have"?
Boost

What are "nice but don't need"?

Anyone got a good (cheap) source or place you like dealing with for gauges and gauge pod.

Actually the tow rig forum is getting pretty respectable. The search is just getting viable.

Hell, should there even BE more than 2 posts a day in Gen4x4? (except for my bullshit that is.)

I agree, and even though there are "better" places for me to get info on my own new Tow rig, I am putting some serious effort into getting the content of this forum up to a respectable level.

Several of the Pirate members (Lance, Jeff, some others) are beefing up their tow rigs right now too, and we are getting product reviews and so GREAT info out of it all.

I like seeing this place kick it up a notch
