Problem with Xzillaraider XZT box on 06 Cummins

I picked up a used Xzillaraider XZT (non adjustable) box for my dad's 06 Cummins. Installed it on Friday, seemed to work good on the test run after the install.

Dad drove the truck on Saturday and the check engine light came on and it started running rough, and even dying on him on the way home. When ge got back I uninstalled everything and it seemed to run ok, but the check engine light came on.

Anyone know anything about these boxes? I have a call into the mfg. to see what they say, but they aren't open for a few more hours to even get my message from this weekend.

I don't know if they've cleaned up the product since then, but it appears tha the early models had real issues.

Non members can't see anything but the first post, and I ain't paying them for squat.

I got a call back from Quadzilla - the people I talked to were SUPER nice and VERY helpful. I'm gonna check a few things out and talk some things over with them if they don't work. They seem very ready to work with me on a resolution.

Forgot about that.
I like TDR, and the mag/newsletter and discounts will far payback the $35. The wealth of info for the CTD on the site is much like what you'd find here for 4x4's Just without the newbie strangling that you'll find here in chit chat LOL

most of the Stuff thats on TDR, is also on DTR.
I browser both, but post and support DTR because they ask for donations, not force it.

only problem I had when I 1st got the quad box was that I quickly installed it and just left it under the hood. it rained the next day and when it got wet all hell broke loose.

let it dry...put it inside the cab and it was fine. It through a check engine light another time months later when I was coming back from high altitude towing/racing other tow rigs. Never bothered to check the code. Installed a juice w/ attitude the next day and had nothing but issues with it... now it's stock again until edge sends me a new one. No check engine lights when it's stock hehe

I had forgotten that I even registered at DTR LOL
I blame CRS (Can't Remember Shit)

My rig is bone stock for the time being. I only plan exhaust, intake (both filter/tubes and one of those air-delaminator devices), and gauges. Maybe I'll throw on a controller and/or turbo at some point.
Oh, and I definitely plan to move the lift pump to the tank once it either goes out and/or warranty expires.

Quad's staff is usually pretty good about getting back in touch with ya and from what I've seen, go out of their way to make sure their products work. He even replies and problem solves on the DTR forum.

I got great customer service, email response from them on my XZillaraider on my '03 ctd.

I just picked up my Commander last night and have it 1/2 installed.
So far it seems like another great product for those of us that want gauges, but not have a ton of them mounted on the a pillar.

Ok, dad left both batteries unhooked overnight - did not reset the check engine light.

I pulled the factor harnesses 2 nights ago and check all the pins - they all looked good and the factory connections seemed good and seated properly.

Dad has driven it a little - seemed to be driving ok despite the codes.

Dad just had the codes pulled and cleared:

P0193 - fuel rail pressure high input too high
P0088 - fuel rail pressure too high
P0148 - fuel delivery too high

This definately sounds like an issue with the XZT box, and I'll try to see if Quadzilla will figure out what is up.

(BTW: I also have a thread on DTR about this, so I am cross posting the info I already posted there).

Just got off the phone with them again - sounds like this box just needs to be flashed to handle the 06 model.

Gonna send it in and see what happens next

Thanks!

I just had the same thing happen with the their race chip on my 06 too.Ive only been running it on the 60 hp setting. The guys at autozone laugh everytime I came in to clear the codes. I talked to quadxilla and the chip has the old settings for the 04.5-05 trucks and I need to send it in for the newer flash which will fix the problem.
I had their chip on my 03 and never had any problems and I put over 100,000 miles with it.
If you have an autozone near by take to them and they can erase the codes for ya. It only take 30 seconds.

That's where dad had the codes erased. I'm sending it in to be flashed tomorrow, we'll see what happens when it gets back. Hopefully - it will be what we were expecting in the first place

Got it back from Quadzilla on Friday, they got it and shipped it back out the same day

Installed it yesterday, and it looks like I sent in a 60hp box and got it back not only flashed for the '06 model, but boosted up to a 100hp box (at least according to the diagnostic light).

Seems to run great, I'll post back after a few days on the road.
