96 v10 specs
I just bought a 96 3/4ton with an auto and v10. What are the power specs on these motors? I tried searching, but I only find vehicles to buy. Also, what do these motors sound like with a dual exhaust?

yeh mine gets somewhere around there. I just put 1500 miles on it moving to NY and it wasnt the best. I just don't like that big muffler, but then I dont want to spend money on a new one and have it sound like crap. How much HP and torque do they have though? I know its not enough to do a burnout anymore though. But hey, it has 172k on it.

We have a 95 V10 at the place I work, it has tons of power. You harldy get on it when taking off from a stop sign and it brakes the tires loose. As for the specs rockr has them right. Its not a very high revving motor, only like 4500 before the rev limiter kicks in. The tourque is unbelievable though. As for the sound, they are not the best sounding. We have dual straight pipes on ours and it sounds like its sick, almost like a 4.0 straight 6 on steroids.

No duals, just a single cat back into a magnaflow on mine and it sounds pretty good. Anything is better than the stock muffler though. You'll never make one sound like a V8 though so don't be too dissapointed after you get the exhaust done. I'm happy with mine though, however it's not driven daily, just a tow rig.

I've looked around for some exhuast on the internet, and under the gibson exhaust, it says not recommended for towing or heavy off-roading. Any one have any 2cents on that? Mine has dual exhuast, 2 cats, then one big muffler. I'm thinkin about glasspacks, but that might sound a little too harsh. It's mostly going to be a dd until I find another dd, then I'm gonna try to build it up a little bit.
