Mac I love your rig. I dislike everyone trying to talk it down.
If your tow rig was a CTD the group would be drooling over it. for some reason an over loaded cummins is "it". If anyone puts a trailer behind anything else there dangerous.

I say pull that sucker if it doesnt work change it.

My favorite F-350s, Wide Track too if I look right?

If I could go back to '8-'10, I think I would now own a 6.4L 6 spd.

well i know it doesn't get 30 mpg at 90 mpg towing 30k...

I really like the interior of the 08 trucks. The 6.4 has so far been a good motor. Delete the dpf and it wakes the truck up. I'm thinking that some airbags and we'll get down the road...I'm thinking that I have a year to dial this setup in before a possible 2013 KOH trip...mostly it will be 3 to 4 hours trips in 2012...so plenty of time to figure it all out...

My boss has a 6.4 and I like it having a truck that will blow the tires off uphill with a loaded trailer isnt the best for towing but damn its cool and not having to buy the tires it even sweeter. I have to disagree on the interior I prefer the 99-07 much better the streering wheel seems to small in the 08+ to me.

How much total weight are you going to run?

How much total weight are you going to run?

Imgine if Ford would've put a good motor in the 03-07 trucks...

I'm hoping with all aboard to stay under 30k gross. That gives me 11k to build an interior, load up two rigs, and parts and spares.

The truck rode like a caddy with that trailer...much better than when empty.

i see bad dragging before you ever get to the lake bed. i would plan to be parking/camping a lot closer to the road. at least have someone scout it if you haven't been there yet.

The 6.0 is seeing a bit of a revival from some it seems when it came out it was cutting edge but they didnt test the thing enough....

11K aint much for what you got planned heck two rigs alone can easily take up 5k to 8k alone....

Yeah like a Mack or Peterbuilt the are designed to work and ride much better that way! Got a Class A? Because you might need it.

The truck has a C13 and 12spd Freedomline, I have owned the truck for 7.5 years and yes I do have a class A non CDL. Oh yea the truck also has an air locker.

I was at KOH this year and scooby has a trailer that's 8 foot shorter. He made it work, I'm not too worried, it has rollers under the bottom...

I have had a coworker pull about 5k of lawn mowers, blowers, and weedeaters behind his Grand it killed his brakes and the engine was at a higher rpm than it should have been in my mind. The trailer being a Uhaul well those can suck depending on who has been maintaining them how do I know a friend used to work for Uhaul. Look how the Wrangler is strapped down in the rear I have never seen that method and not really liking how the front is stapped downed to well either but it might just my view on it. My wife has an 03 Tundra Limited but I and hope she wouldnt either try to tow 5K behind it also used a extended cab 95 F150 rated to tow my 88 Bronco but in reality it wasnt really the best use of the F150 and the brakes were easily over ran and the engine a 5.0 with an EAOD and a 3.55 gear sucked.

Just because its rated to doesnt mean it might be best too.

It was just more of a test. Looking into a feather weight trailer to knock the weight down some.

The rear strap is going over the frame.
