Adding bathroom to my enclosed trailer??

I've searched the PBB and Google can't find any good info for adding a shower and toilet along with holding tanks to my enclosed hauler. Any suggestions for a site that explains basics of RV plumbing, holding tanks, etc.??? I've found shower pans that have accomodations for mounting a toilet which is what I need to do due to space constraints but I don't know anything about pumps, holding tanks, or water heaters. Suggestions?

Very good thanks. My buddy Pat in Atlanta does marine power and plumbing and called me earlier with way more helpful info then I could digest at one time. I think we'll get a barter deal going as he wants an Ftoy chassis. I'll post up my findings when I decide how to proceed. I think we'll be using a Porta-poty style toilet since it will only really be for emergency use then use generic shower pan and plastic sheeting for the walls. Where I get a little lost is in the pump, power, plumbing and I think that's where Pat will come in. I'm taking some before pics so i'll have a good before and after and build up info.

marine chemical toilets and 12 volt composting toilets are good alternatives to having a black water tank, dumping stations, dealing with hoses, etc.

Sunmar and Envirolet both make several models. There are huge differences in prices online, so shop around.

Gray water should be pretty simple and if you use biodegradeable soaps and cleaners you can dump gray water onto grass or dirt.

True in theory only... But in practice, gray water is nasty shit. As a matter of fact, 9x out of 10 gray smells worse than the black tank.

Almost all campgrounds specifically prohibit dumping or dribbling of gray as well..

I'm not saying I haven't done it plenty of times... I'm just saying be aware of what you suggest.

After he gets around to replacing the porta-pati with a real head. I was thinking of reusing the grey water as flush water for the head. I've heard too many horror stories about bacteria making it up stream to the drinking water.

For the guys who'll come back in reread this down the road.

Don't use an Aluminum tank for black water. After time Urine will corrode the tank and cause leaks.

You can ask Hendrix, I know he set his enclosed up. Aaron was also setting his up before he sold it.

The Gray water you will have from just showers will not be the same as Gray water from an RV where your washing dishes. You could use it to flush toilets. The reason that gray water can stink is the food particles start to rot. But , it still will not hurt your grass.

But if you are going to be adding a Black water tank, gray water tank and potable water tank for just a shower and shitter, you better calculate the weight and space needed.

That's why i'm thinking self contained porta-potty with removable tank. Potable tank and dump the Gray water or very small gray tank so I can choose where to dump. Least amount of space/weight. I looked at some cheap shower pans yesterday at Lowes that should work fine just need to decide on Porta P.

What size trailer are you doing this to? I've been looking at enclosed trailers to convert and will end up doing the same thing. How much fresh water do you plan to carry with you?

Do a buildup when you do something. I'm trying to figure out the same thing for my trailer. I can't afford a inclosed toy hauler and I'd just like to do something to my trailer to make it have a few creature comforts.
