Not gonna happen with all the emissions stuff on these trucks...the cat cannot be deleted as it will cause all kinds of check engine lights!!!

Call Westers Garage and talk to them. They have remove everything from the cat back for Chev trucks already and are supposed to be doing the same for Fords and Dodges. Not sure if they can remove the cat.

OILFIELD Environmental agencies have placed restrictions on operator trucks equipped with afterburner carbon filters on newer GM diesels or they're not allowed in the environment.

We listened--custom programs for 2007-2008 Diesels are ready for GM particulate filter and afterburner delete. We guarantee 22+ MPG highway with all 2007-2008 Duramax LBZ and LMM Custom programs.

Presently working on the same help for our Dodge and Ford clients.

there's a shop in Houston doing this. they're already selling the kit for the 6.7 but it's kinda at your own risk deal right now. My buddy's just waiting for them to work out the bugs (estimated time is about 6 months) & he's gonna straight pipe his...

It's not against the law to tamper with/remove emissions equipment on the new diesels like it is on gas vehicles?

hmm, we do engine management for the navistars at work. Not sure about if they are doing it on the new cummins, but I imagine it'd be interesting to see what happens when the computer does an afterburn to clean the cat, if there was no cat....

as far as the computer thing goes, from the reading I've done on it (all be it limited), most programmers will be able to take care of the codes once the DPF is gone.

I'm really curious on the passing inspection part too. We don't have emissions inspection shit here YET, but I'm sure it's coming. I can't see too many people keeping all the stock stuff and swapping out the nice goodies when they take it in to the sniffer shop

Actually if that is your plan it's not a bad one. You can get the DPF out in about 90 seconds with air tools. But you had better be wearing dirty clothes cause the soot that inevitebly falls out is NASTY.

So, this project would be a good one to do at somebody else's house?

That was the first thing I thought of when I read the thread title! But I own a 12v so I'm a little biased to the "old ways of doing things" when it comes to CTD's.

Nothing some purple power and the power washer couldn't handle but yeah. The DPF might clean ITSELF but the pipe before it isn't close to being clean.
