i thought about it.. but the $$$ factor turned me away.. i wanted to pick up a quigley ford cargo 4x4 dulley van with a powerstroke. I like the idea because there is more weight over the rear, but then, they are more top heavy.. and plus dulleys are always better.. i just think the cool factor would outweigh anything tho.

What do you need the 4wd for? Do you want to have mild off-highway capability, or just be able to get through snow & slopping parking lots? Reason I ask is that GM is going to be offering AWD on their full-size vans for '03. Being a factory option, it'll likely set you back a WHOLE lot less than a Quigley conversion. However, you won't have a low range, true 4wd lock, nor much ground clearance. You will get good Winter traction though.
BTW, the '03 Chevy vans kind of look like an Avalanche, GMC's will be much less objectionable. TEX

4X4 VANS
My opinion, nothing tows better than a van except for a dually. The closer the rear axle is to the hitch, the better the tow vehicle. Obviously, goosenecks and fith wheels tow the best.
I'm a BIG van fan, I was practically raised in one traveling to motocross races growing up. The reasons I like them better than trucks are pretty simple. You can lock everything up and it stays outta the rain. Most people don't even know what's inside. They tow better than most trucks and can seat everyone real comfortable. You can buy them with the same load capabilities as trucks (1 ton, etc.) Camping is made simple until you get married! (then it's class A diesel pusher time...even for day trips!) Anyway, if one of you nice members would post a picture for me, I have a pretty bad ass 4X4 van sittin on 17's with 33's. It's the bomb and it went up Lion's Back with 8 people in it!
