Dealer Background: On Tuesday, a Detroit television station cited unnamed sources and reported that Ford is planning to end production of Excursion after the 2004 model year. Immediately following the broadcast, multiple media outlets published similar stories. Below is a statement for use upon inquiry.
DEARBORN, Mich., July 31, 2002 - Ford has not announced the discontinuation of the Excursion after the 2004 model year. We do not know where this report originated. As you know, the 2003 Excursion is a great product. New for 2003 is the Eddie Bauer trim level - providing customers with a new level of comfort and refinement. In addition, later this year 2003 Excursion will offer the all-new 6.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine and a new 5-speed TorqShift automatic transmission. Ford does not, as a matter of company policy, comment on future product plans. (Info from Super Ford website) |
