Upgrades for 6.9 diesel, (Banks?)
A friend of mine is looking at an 84 f350 4x4 4sp for 3500 bucks. I was just curious if anyone had any experience with the kits to increase the performance. How about propane injection without the turbo?

A friend of mine had one of those. He put a Gear Vendor and a Banks turbo on it. It pulled hard. Even the turbo is a lot of money to invest in an 18 year old truck. Is it in that good of shape?

I've got an 86 w/C-6. I havn't done anything with it yet(stock) It pulls well on flat ground but sucks on the hills. I've been doing some research and think I will go with an ATS turbo system. From what I have heard Propaine helps but not a huge gain, seems to help with fuel milage more than power. Make sure he has a good head seal(gaskets) before installing a turbo. the 6.9 has a rap for blowing HG's.

I've got an 85, also with the C6. You're right, it is dog ass slow. To figure out what works and what doesn't, go to the Ford-Diesel forums and ask the 6.9 guys. They've tried it all.
They've got write ups on home made propane and ram-air setups. Ford Diesel Forum
